Free calculators for federal GS employees, standard locality-based GG/DCIPS employees, and state employees. No account required. Start with the official numbers, see what they mean, then decide what to do next.

Federal data basis: U.S. Office of Personnel Management 2026 GS/locality tables plus DoD/DCIPS guidance for standard GG local market supplements.
2026 FEDERAL DATAGS + STANDARD GG58 LOCALITY AREAS

2026 Federal GS / GG Grade, Step + Locality Pay Calculator

Choose your federal pay plan, locality pay area, grade and step. GS uses the 2026 OPM General Schedule locality tables. GG (DCIPS — standard locality) uses the same GS locality-area grade/step rates for standard local market supplement cases. Some GG positions receive a higher Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS), so those cases must be verified against the applicable DCIPS pay chart.

Not covered: GG Targeted Local Market Supplements (TLMS), CES or other agency-specific GG structures, LEO special base rates, wildland firefighter special base rates, occupational special-rate tables other than nationwide 001M, retained rates, or other special pay systems. Always verify against your SF-50, agency pay chart and payroll/HR data.
GS ONLYSTANDARD METHODGEOGRAPHIC CONVERSION

Federal GS Promotion / Two-Step Rule Calculator

Estimate the lowest step in the higher grade that satisfies OPM's two-step promotion rule for a regular GS employee. GG/DCIPS promotion-setting rules can differ and are not calculated here. The calculator can also model a promotion that changes locality: it converts the current grade and step to the new duty-station locality before applying the two-step rule.

Important: This is for the regular GS standard method. It does not calculate LEO/GW rates, occupational special-rate schedules beyond nationwide 001M, retained-rate cases, maximum-payable-rate decisions, or an alternate-method special-rate case. Those require agency/HR review.
STATE EMPLOYEES

State Employee Raise + COLA Calculator

State systems are not standardized nationally, so use your own official state salary, pay schedule or HR notice.

The after-deduction amount is an estimate from the inputs you provide, not a tax calculation or official payroll quote.

You know the number. Next, build the case.

Keep these calculators free. Use the KUW Raise Your Pay Toolkit as the deeper paid option for documenting responsibilities, measurable wins and a compensation conversation.
